At some point in my life, I was considered friendly, funny, full of life, carefree, and secure. But in 2020, my life took a drastic turn, plunging me into the darkest nightmare I have ever experienced. My name is Suellen Sanchez, and this is my story.
I am an American, but my heart is divided. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, on November 6, 1981, I always knew that my destiny lay beyond the shores of the island. From a young age, I was drawn to the allure of American life, dreaming of serving in the military. However, life led me to Texas, where I embraced a career as a professional esthetician and laser technician, marking the true beginning of my journey.
From the moment I set foot in the Lone Star State, I fell in love with its charm. It felt like destiny. Interestingly, my name, Suellen, echoes the famous series “Dallas,” and I believe it’s more than a mere coincidence. Houston, with its beauty, incredible food, wonderful people, and vibrant atmosphere filled with opportunities, became my paradise, and it remains so to this day.
When I made the move from Florida to Houston, I clung to my big dreams, ready to face any challenges that came my way. Little did I know that the transition would bring not only larger opportunities but also a tougher battle than I had anticipated. However, my determination to persevere and achieve new goals remained unwavering.
One of the best decisions I made was to transfer all my esthetician licenses to Texas and obtain a professional laser technician license. My business flourished, and everything seemed to be going well until the global upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Faced with this challenge, I had to think fast and find ways to sustain my livelihood while maintaining my self-employed lifestyle. That’s when the idea of buying land and setting up Airbnbs to secure living space for my family came to me. I acquired five lots in Colony Ridge, also known as Terrenos Houston, and it became my focus.
Since May 2020, at the hands of the developers of Colony Ridge, my journey has been filled with pain, challenges, days of just surviving, and relentless investigations. After my money was stolen by the developers of Colony Ridge, whom I later confronted, I had to close my business and constantly relocate due to persistent stalking. I’ve faced horrifying incidents, such as dead animals and fluids thrown at my car and doors. Unfortunately, these were just the beginning of the challenges aimed at silencing me and my family. What started as a joyful dream of property ownership turned into a journey of blood, sweat, tears, sleepless nights, and financial setbacks. I have even received death threats, with the most recent attempt being someone trying to run me over with a tinted windows high-speed sports car.
Despite all the hardships, my determination to expose the political and economic issues in Colony Ridge, which exploit the dreams of working immigrants like myself, keeps me fighting. I firmly believe in the power of truth, even though it comes at a price. My hope is that our efforts don’t go in vain and that the situation in Colony Ridge changes, putting an end to the abuse of human rights. We need to recognize that we are all children of God, regardless of our origins.
Living under a shadow of pain, I carry the pain of those whose voices are not heard. The overdose cases of children in Cleveland ISD, often overlooked by mainstream news, break my heart. The murders and abuse of teens also deeply affect me. There have been moments when I wished to live a different life and escape from Colony Ridge, but I know that my life holds so much more value than just my own happiness.

This website has been a self-funded citizen effort to spread the word about Colony Ridge and what they have done to their victims. We have been harassed because of these efforts and have also been a crucial bridge for the Federal Government to hear from victims of what the DOJ and CFPB consider a land scheme.
