Dear Attorney General Paxton,
As you may be aware, many people have reached out to you about the substandard living conditions and the UN-truth-in-advertising practices being put forth by Houston, Texas, developer John Harris regarding his Colony Ridge, Terrenos Houston, Terrenos Parkway 99 developments (and many other neighborhoods he developed to target and take advantage of Hispanic families).
You may recognize the phrase “Land for Sale Houston” through which he has bamboozled hundreds of mostly immigrant families out of tens of thousands of dollars – often their life savings – for false promises about the living conditions within these developments.
Living in these neighborhoods developed by Mr. Harris is like living in the Third World. There are many reports of failing water systems – including detectable levels of e. coli in the water. You may have heard about the SEWAGE pouring out of the ground. About the sex trafficking, drugs, child pornography and kidnappings in these AMERICAN neighborhoods. Sounds like the squalor in another country but it’s happening in Texas, right here in the greater Houston area.
These John Harris developments are being advertised as family friendly communities when in fact there are reports of constant gun shots, physical assaults and sex crimes.
Crimes involving children.
Immigrants are being bated to buy in these Third World-like neighborhoods thinking they are spending their hard earned money on the house of their dreams, the neighborhoods of their dreams. Harris is in fact targeting undocumented immigrants. We know this because he asks for only two IDs from their country to be financed and mainly advertises in Spanish.
There have also been reports of money order payments made at the developer’s office drop box only to then having those payments disappear and the prospective buyer then threatened with foreclosure. That’s what happened to us and hundreds of others. And that is why we are amassing a huge group of citizens and fighting back.
This is happening all the time to hundreds if not thousands of families over the past several years who are unlucky enough to buy property from one John Harris.
We have multiple people telling us that they have paid Harris for property to then get a phone call or letter from Harris’ company ordering them to pay a large amount of cash or they will be foreclosed.
It’s no wonder 97 percent of all foreclosures in Liberty County are from Hispanics. Thanks, John Harris.
It has been reported to us that some of these women then turn to sex trafficking so they can sustain their families.
We also have families who are too afraid to speak up to the authorities. We understand that having a couple of people reach out to you about this situation might not have been enough for you to step in but now, with everything we have exposed it is too big to ignore.
It is time to take action.
You took an oath to protect the people of this state and for some reason, the Harris’ have been untouchable. We ask you now to do the right thing and help these families get their live savings and damages back as we move toward a Class Action Lawsuit.
We understand Mr. Harris and his family are big donators to Governor Abbott. But we would still like to see the state of Texas do the right thing and help these people before this blows up into a full scale ERIN BROCKOVICH level national news story. The rest of the union often believes Texas is still rampant with corruption and bribes and we’d like to show that this is NOT true of our beloved state. So let’s take action before the national news gets involved.
Your website says that your first initiative as attorney general was the formation of a special unit dedicated to combating human trafficking in Texas and your website cover “Colonias” and their prevention.
It’s time to act.
Please contact us at terrenoshoustondemanda@protonmail.com so we can meet and go over the full scale details of this criminal enterprise and begin to help the many families who are suffering.
We are one. We are strong. And we are taking legal action. Click here to read more.
Best,
The Terrenos Houston Demanda Team
